Before construction, it should be ensured that the compatibility and adhesion test between the sealant and the base material and related accessories are qualified. The sealant is within the storage period specified by the manufacturer, and the quality performance of the sealant after surface drying, tack-free and curing meets the requirements of door and window assembly. .


Since the sealant-related standards do not strictly stipulate the environmental conditions for the application of sealant products, during the construction process, the user should try his best to carry out the construction according to the construction environmental conditions recommended by the sealant manufacturer. For example, the recommended construction environmental conditions of Baiyun brand silicone sealant are: temperature 4 ℃ ~ 40 ℃, relative humidity 40% ~ 80%. Different manufacturers may have different construction environmental conditions, which should be confirmed before construction.


In winter, when the temperature is low, frost or fog is likely to occur on the surface of the substrate, resulting in wet glue joints. If the surface of the substrate is not dry enough before the sealant is applied, there is water vapor, and the wet glue joint may cause the sealant to foam, and the wet glue joint will affect the bonding performance of the sealant, thereby affecting the construction quality. When construction at low temperature, it should be fully confirmed that the surface of the substrate is dry before construction.


In the winter construction environment, the temperature and humidity are generally low, and the curing speed of the sealant may be significantly slower. During the construction process, it is recommended to extend the curing time after the sealant is applied, and it should be avoided that the sealant will cause great stress on the glue joint after the construction. The glue seam is deformed.


For the door and window assembly construction of the door and window factory, both sides of the door and window inlaid glass need to be glued for construction. The usual practice is to construct one side first, and then turn over the other side after the sealant is cured. For applications that need to be turned over, make sure that the sealant is cured to a sufficient depth to resist the deformation of the glue seam caused by the turning over. At the same time, measures of heating or humidification can be used to improve the indoor temperature and humidity conditions and speed up the curing speed of the sealant.


For winter construction, the environmental temperature and humidity conditions have a greater impact, and the quality control of the door and window sealant construction should be done. If the environmental conditions exceed the specified requirements, it is recommended to conduct a small-area glue test during the construction process, and conduct an adhesion test to confirm that the adhesion is good and there is no problem with the appearance before using it in a large area to ensure the construction quality of the door and window sealant.
